GENERAL SUMMARY

Over thirty six years experience as a Socio-political Historian dealing with the Rural and Urban history of Development in South Asia.
Concurrently, taught and supervised research at Universities and Development Institutes.
Carried out extensive research at Yale University on the History of Water Management in Bangladesh and in other regions of South and South-East Asia that focused on the importance of State and local level organizational structures in the domain of water management.
While at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, had a methodological training on Oral History.
Member of Research team in Water Management, Rural and Urban Development projects sponsored by U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP), Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), Norwegian Development Agency (NORAD), Danish International Agency (DANIDA), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
